Ocean was created because clinicians face many of the same challenges as the people seeking care. Traditional directories and referral methods don’t always help clinicians connect with clients who are the best fit for their expertise or therapeutic approach. Ocean was built to make those connections more intentional by helping match clinicians with clients based on the factors that contribute to a strong therapeutic relationship, creating a better starting point for both sides.

Traditional directories are designed to help clinicians get discovered through searchable profiles, leaving clients to determine who might be the best fit. Ocean takes a matching-first approach by using information from both client and clinician intakes to identify potential matches based on communication style, treatment approach, preferences, prior therapy experiences, and other factors that contribute to therapeutic alliance. Our goal is to help clinicians connect with clients who may be a better fit for their practice while making the search process easier for clients.

Ocean’s matching process is built around therapeutic alliance, one of the strongest predictors of positive therapy outcomes. Your clinician intake captures information beyond specialties and demographics, including your treatment approach, communication style, experience, and practice preferences. This information is considered alongside client intake responses to identify potential matches. While no system can guarantee a perfect fit, Ocean is designed to support stronger introductions and more informed connections.

Ocean is currently free for clinicians during the beta period. Following beta, the platform will cost $40 per month. Our goal is to provide an affordable platform that helps clinicians build sustainable practices while making it easier for clients to find the right care.

Ocean uses AI to help analyze client and clinician intake information and identify factors that may contribute to therapeutic fit. AI supports the matching process but does not diagnose clients, assess risk, or make clinical recommendations. It is designed to support clinicians, not replace clinical judgment. Information is processed on Ocean’s infrastructure, is not shared with third-party AI providers, and personally identifiable information is never used to train our models.

Information you provide during onboarding and your clinician intake is used to help identify clients who may be a strong fit for your practice and to support the functionality of the platform. We use security practices and data masking processes designed to protect personal information and reduce the risk of identifiable information being exposed or misused. Ocean does not use your information to evaluate your clinical practice or make treatment recommendations.

Yes. We believe privacy is a fundamental right, and clinicians should have control over their information. You can opt out of having de-identified intake information used to improve the platform at any time by contacting our privacy team at privacy@tryocean.io. Personally identifiable information is never used to train or improve Ocean’s matching system, and opting out will not affect your ability to use the platform or receive matches.
